Your iPhone might not be compatible with iOS 18. Here are the eligible devices

The latest iPhone operating system, iOS 18, will not be available on every handset when the iPhone 16 lineup is officially announced at the upcoming Apple event. If you choose not to upgrade to a new iPhone model this year, you may be left behind with an unsupported operating system. Apple removes older iPhone models from the iOS eligibility list each year, like the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X last year, meaning owners missed out on new features. We can help you determine if your iPhone is compatible with iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence, and whether you’ll be able to access the latest software features. Older devices that were compatible with iOS 17 should still work with iOS 18, according to Apple. iPhones from the 2017 model year or earlier, like the iPhone 8 or X, won’t be able to upgrade to the latest iOS but should continue to function without the newest features. Devices like the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max may not be eligible for Apple Intelligence, and it’s likely that the new iPhone 16 models will be fully compatible.
