Apple’s Glowtime event just concluded, showcasing the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, the Apple Watch Series 10, and AirPods 4. These devices will come with iOS 18 pre-installed, with a free download available for most newer Apple handsets on September 16. Not every iPhone will be able to run iOS 18, leaving some older models without the latest features. iPhones from the 2017 model year or earlier won’t be able to update to iOS 18, but will still function without the newest features. Compatibility with Apple Intelligence will vary, with the beta release scheduled for next month on top-end 2023 models and the newer iPhone 16 series. iOS 18 will introduce features such as improved Messages, an organized photos library, and personalized home screen layouts. An iOS 18 beta is currently available for download, but the official release is just under a week away.
