Last week, PlayStation 5 users received a firmware update (24.06-10.00.00) but have been experiencing numerous bugs while playing Final Fantasy 16, including game crashes during saves or fast traveling. An alarming bug reported by a Reddit user involved a tide of black squares covering much of the screen. The official Final Fantasy 16 Twitter account acknowledged the issues, stating that Square Enix is working with Sony Interactive Entertainment to investigate the causes and urged players to be patient for updates. Sony has not yet made any statements on the matter. Reports have also surfaced of similar bugs in other games like the Resident Evil 4 remake, Star Wars Outlaws, Death Stranding, and No Man’s Sky post-update. IGN highlighted the graphical issues affecting some games on the PlayStation 5 following the recent firmware update.
