Jan-Bart van Beek, Guerilla Games’ art and animation director, has officially announced that a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn is arriving on October 31, featuring over 10 hours of re-recorded audio, mocap, improved character models, animation, lighting, and textures to match the visual fidelity of Horizon Forbidden West. Upgraded for PlayStation 5 and compatible PCs, it also supports the PS5 Pro. Nixxes, a Dutch developer, worked on the remaster, adding improved audio and Atmos rendering for enhanced immersion. The remastered version includes The Frozen Wilds expansion and supports ultra-wide resolutions and NVIDIA’s DLSS 3 AI-based rendering accelerator. Accessibility features from the original game are included, along with a new optional feature notifying players of interactable elements. Available for $50, players who own the original game or complete edition can upgrade for $10, including those who received the game through Sony’s Play at Home giveaways. Upgrades are available for PS5 and PC versions, with disc-owners requiring the disc for access.
