Ring is rebranding its subscription products, ditching Ring Protect in favor of Ring Home and introducing new features to celebrate the change. The most significant update is the inclusion of 24/7 recording for select wired video doorbells, ensuring no missed moments if a motion alert isn’t triggered. Push notifications will now deliver video clip previews, eliminating the need to open the app. Users can also access Extended and Continuous Live View options for their cameras, increasing monitoring time from 10 minutes to 30 and removing time limits altogether. Doorbell Calls will connect directly to your smartphone when someone is at the door. The pricing for the new Ring Home tiers remains the same as Ring Protect counterparts, with Home Basic at $4.99 a month, Home Standard at $9.99/month, and Home Premium at $19.99/month. The Standard tier offers Extended Live View and Doorbell Calls, while the Premium tier includes Continuous Live View and 24/7 recording. The changes aim to allow users to add additional packages from Ring’s expanding security product line, such as Virtual Security Guard and Alarm Professional Monitoring starting on November 5th.
