The soundtrack for the 1997 video game adaptation of “Ghost in the Shell” featuring a spider-bot crawling mech is being released in the West for the first time under the title “Ghost in the Shell: Megatech Body.” Produced by Takkyu Ishino, this soundtrack can be pre-ordered on iam8bit ahead of its 2025 release. In the game, players pilot a spider-like mech and battle enemies with machine guns and missiles, with the original manga’s author, Masamune Shirow, contributing to the story and art design. The soundtrack features techno tracks from Ishino, Mijk Van Dijk, The Advent, Joey Beltram, and Brother from Another Planet. Available in CD, double LP, and picture disc formats, the album pays homage to the original release and is priced at $43, $55, and $50 respectively. Expected to arrive in Q2 2025, fans can now pre-order the different versions on iam8bit.
