Bloober Team revealed their latest project, Cronos: The New Dawn, during today’s Xbox Partner Showcase event. This brand-new IP is described as a twisted time travel story set in a post-apocalyptic future, marking a shift from the studio’s previous psychological horror games like the Layers of Fear series. The cinematic trailer showcased the game’s third-person survival horror gameplay with plenty of action, depicting a character resembling Isaac from Dead Space and a Big Daddy from Bioshock playing chess before navigating an apocalyptic hellscape. Players will be tasked with surviving the deadly wasteland and fighting off monstrous abominations, blending eerie horror atmospheres with science fiction elements. Despite being announced at an Xbox event, Cronos: The New Dawn will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S systems in 2025, following the studio’s recent release of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
