The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has officially issued a full recommended fine against political consultant Steve Kramer for using deepfake AI technology to create robocalls to New Hampshire residents with a pre-recorded audio of President Biden’s voice, instructing voters not to participate in the upcoming primary. Kramer faces a $6 million fine to be paid within 30 days, or collection will be handled by the Department of Justice. Additionally, Kramer is also facing criminal charges of multiple counts of voter suppression and impersonation of a political candidate, announced by New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella. Kramer hired a magician named Paul Carpenter to create the fake recordings using ElevenLabs in just 20 minutes. A recent event featured Samsung unveiling new devices such as the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra tablet, with features like Circle to Search and Sketch to Image, Handwriting Assist, and Note Assist, alongside a 120Hz 14.6-inch screen and a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor, starting at $1,200. On the tech front, affordable wireless earbuds with noise cancellation features are increasingly available from brands like Anker, Jlab, and Amazon.
