Games Done Quick, the organization known for organizing charity game marathons featuring high-level speedrunners, has announced its latest fundraiser. The group will host an event called Disaster Relief Done Quick in partnership with the nonprofit Direct Relief to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 hurricane that caused extensive damage in the US Southeast. The event will run from October 11 to October 13 and donations will go directly to Direct Relief. Multiple speedrunners have already submitted runs for games like Zelda: Four Swords, The Sims 4, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. In the past, Games Done Quick events have raised significant amounts for charity, including $2.5 million for cancer research and $2.55 million for Doctors Without Borders.
