Google is introducing a helpful update for Google Password Manager, enabling users to synchronize passkeys across multiple devices. Previously, passkeys could only be saved to Google Password Manager on Android, limiting cross-device functionality. The latest update now allows passkey saving on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, with ChromeOS in beta testing. iOS support is on the way. Passkeys are saved in Google Password Manager and automatically sync across devices, encrypted end-to-end for security. Passkeys, different from passwords, allow users to access accounts without entering a password, a feature Google has implemented since last year. The update also includes a six-digit PIN for added security when using passkeys on new devices. Google passkeys can be used with various services including Amazon, PayPal, and WhatsApp, and integrated into Chrome and Android devices for easy access.
