Indiegogo has just launched a Shipping Guarantee program to provide assurance to buyers that they will receive their products. Previously, there was no guarantee of product delivery for backed projects, but now, things are changing. The program will be available to companies with a strong track record on the crowdfunding platform, with a history of successful campaigns improving their chances of approval. This program is an improvement from the “Trust-Proven” badge introduced two years ago, indicating consistent fulfillment, positive backer ratings, and excellent campaign management. According to the FAQ page for Indiegogo’s Shipping Guarantee Program, campaigns must be vetted by the Trust & Safety team and products must be in the final manufacturing stages to qualify. The first campaign under this program is the HoverAIR X1 PRO and X1 PRO MAX flying action cameras, showcasing a “Shipping Guarantee” badge on the project page, promising backers a refund if the drones don’t ship by October 31, 2024. Backers must complete surveys from campaign owners to qualify for the protection program, emphasizing the importance of providing accurate shipping information. Indiegogo’s focus on ensuring reliable companies have access to the Shipping Guarantee program aims to increase confidence for backers, addressing concerns about failed campaigns from the past and building trust in the crowdfunding process.
