Meta is in talks with celebrities like Awkwafina, Judi Dench, and Keegan-Michael Key for their AI voice projects, aiming to create a conversational generative AI called MetaAI. Negotiations are ongoing for using their voices across various platforms, but a time limit has been established for their use. SAG-AFTRA is involved in negotiations to protect actors from job loss due to AI, with potential for actors to earn millions in fees from Meta. The company plans to finalize deals before its Connect conference, where last year they introduced AI chatbot personalities voiced by celebrities, although a previous celebrity chatbot project has been quietly scrapped.
