OpenAI has launched its advanced Voice Mode feature, with a limited number of paying ChatGPT users gaining access starting today. ChatGPT Plus members will receive the expanded toolset by fall of this year. The Voice Mode promises more natural and real-time conversations, allowing interruptions and responding to emotions. Support for voice conversations arrived last September in ChatGPT, and the more advanced version was publicly demoed in May. OpenAI faced criticism for a voice option resembling Scarlett Johansson’s voice, leading to a delayed release. Despite clarifications, the similar-sounding voice has been removed from the feature.
