A few months after Intuit shut down Mint, a popular budgeting app I had used for years, I explored Credit Karma as an alternative but found it lacking. I embarked on a search for a true Mint replacement and tested various budgeting apps to find the best one. Quicken Simplifi emerged as the top choice, even months after Mint’s shutdown, due to its user-friendly interface, effective income and bill detection, and affordable cost. While other solid options exist, like Monarch Money, NerdWallet, and Copilot, Quicken Simplifi stood out for its simplicity and functionality. With features like easy connecting to financial accounts, goal setting, and detailed expense tracking, Quicken Simplifi surpassed other apps in terms of user experience. Despite some minor issues, such as fewer customization options and lack of Zillow integration, Quicken Simplifi proved to be the best alternative to Mint for managing finances effectively in 2024.
