Sony recently released a PS5 system update with new options for customizing the home screen through the Welcome hub, replacing the Explore tab. The Welcome hub allows users to add widgets displaying console storage space, battery levels, online friends, trophies, and more, which can be resized and arranged as desired. Users can also change the background with animated effects or screenshots. Other features of the update include personalized 3D audio profiles for headphones, adaptive charging for PS5 Slim, and the upcoming PS5 Pro, as well as the ability to enable remote play for individual users. The update is rolling out gradually to US customers, with other parts of the world receiving it in the coming weeks. Additionally, Sony teased a future feature allowing users to share party voice chat links on social media and messaging apps.
