TwitchCon San Diego is happening this weekend, with the platform making some significant announcements during the opening ceremony. CEO Dan Clancy revealed that Twitch will provide clearer explanations to streamers and viewers who violate rules, by sharing chat excerpts that led to suspensions via email and the appeals portal. The platform will also introduce a strike expiration policy in early 2025 to prevent long-time streamers from being permanently banned for minor infractions. Enhanced Broadcasting users will soon be able to stream in 2K starting next year, with plans for 4K in the works. Additionally, in 2025, Enhanced Broadcasting users can stream vertical and landscape videos simultaneously for optimal viewing experiences. Updates to the mobile app will improve navigation, while the Clip Carousel feature will showcase the best stream clips for easy sharing. Shared chat options for Stream Together sessions, expansions of Unity Guilds and Creator Clubs, and the launch of new Creator Clubs in various categories were also announced, aiming to help streamers connect, learn, and grow together.
