Valve’s upcoming game, Deadlock, has been quietly making waves with over 16,000 concurrent players seen on SteamDB over the weekend. Although the game has not been officially announced by the company, it seems to be undergoing a soft launch phase, possibly with play tests to gauge its potential success. Deadlock is rumored to be a competitive MOBA shooter, developed in partnership with IceFrog, the creator of the original Defense of the Ancients mod. Described as a mix of Valorant, Overwatch, Dota 2, and Team Fortress 2, Deadlock has garnered attention for its advanced state of development and impressive player count. The game reportedly features a fantasy-steampunk setting and unique gameplay elements like Bioshock Infinite-style skyrails. Despite the lack of an official announcement, Valve trademarked the name back in June, hinting at a forthcoming reveal. With the increasing buzz surrounding Deadlock, it’s only a matter of time before more details emerge.
