8BitDo has unveiled a new, $26 solderless mod kit that can transform your old GameCube controller into a wireless Bluetooth device compatible with Nintendo Switch and Android. The kit includes Hall Effect joysticks, a trigger pack, and a rechargeable 300mAh battery, providing around 6 hours of playtime. Pre-orders are currently available, with shipping scheduled for September 25. While there are alternative adapters on the market for using a wired GameCube controller with the Switch, such as 8BitDo’s GBros. adapter or an official Nintendo one, this mod kit offers a direct solution for wireless Bluetooth connectivity by simply replacing the old PCB with the new one inside the controller.
