Adobe is entering the generative AI (GAI) space with its Firefly Video Model, which is being utilized across various Adobe applications. Announced at Adobe MAX, some features are now available in beta, such as Generative Extend in Premiere Pro. This feature allows editors to seamlessly add generated footage and audio to clips to cover transitions or edits, without the need for reshoots. While some professional video editors appreciate the convenience, others may be concerned about potential implications for their work and income. Adobe’s Firefly generative models, including the Firefly Video Model, are designed for commercial use and feature Content Credentials watermarks for protection. In addition to video editing improvements, Photoshop gains new features like Generative Fill and Generative Expand powered by the Firefly Image Model. Adobe also introduces enhancements like the Remove tool with Distraction Removal for easier object removal in images. Moreover, Frame.io V4 offers a significant update for the collaborative production platform, now available to all users, with improved workflows, upgraded video player, and support from major camera manufacturers for Camera to Cloud (C2C) feature.
