Amazon Prime Video will host a live election night special with Brian Williams as the host, delivering “election results and analysis” starting at 5PM ET on November 5. This free special does not require a Prime membership and will be live streaming worldwide. Williams will be joined by various contributors, directed by industry veteran Glenn Weiss, as Amazon does not have a news division and will rely on third-party sources for results and commentary. Williams stated that he will follow the storyline on election night wherever it leads. Albert Cheng, VP of Prime Video, confirmed this is a “one-night-only” event, similar to their previous live stream of a Black Friday NFL game. Williams, who previously hosted NBC Nightly News, left the network after inaccuracies were found in some of his reporting.
