The entire Annapurna Interactive team has resigned after executives walked out, as reported by Bloomberg. President Nathan Gary was negotiating to spin off Annapurna Interactive into its own entity but discussions broke down, leading to the resignations of Gary and other executives. The team, consisting of 25 members, collectively made the difficult decision to leave. Partner developers are now uncertain about the future, but co-founder Hector Sanchez has assured them that existing agreements will be honored. Annapurna Interactive plans to hire new staff to rebuild the team. Despite the turmoil, founder Megan Ellison remains committed to supporting developers and expanding the company’s presence in interactive storytelling. Known for critically acclaimed games like “What Remains of Edith Finch,” “Stray,” “Cocoon,” “Sayonara Wild Hearts” and “Outer Wilds,” Annapurna Interactive faces a period of transition as it moves forward.
