According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is set to introduce a new operating system called homeOS along with its rumored smart displays, with the first one expected to launch by 2025. Reports have been circulating for over a year about a HomePod-like device with a display, and it was revealed this summer that Apple is also working on a tabletop smart display equipped with a robotic arm for improved viewing. Gurman’s latest report details two versions in development: a basic low-end display for FaceTime and smart home controls, and a high-end robotic variant costing over $1,000. The cheaper version may debut next year, followed by the premium model, with Gurman suggesting a potential release date of 2026. Regardless, both devices will feature Apple Intelligence as a key component, operating on a new homeOS based on Apple TV’s tvOS.
