The long-awaited film adaptation of the popular sci-fi novel “Mickey7” has finally released a trailer, now titled “Mickey17,” hinting at even more surprises for fans. Directed by Bong Joon Ho, the movie expands on the original storyline of clones colonizing an exoplanet, increasing the number of Mickey variants to at least 17 for a darker and more humorous experience. The trailer showcases plenty of clone deaths, aligning with Bong Joon Ho’s signature social satire style seen in his previous works like “Snowpiercer” and “Parasite.” Starring Robert Pattinson and a star-studded cast, including Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and possibly a new character played by Mark Ruffalo, this unique IP promises to be an entertaining and potentially franchise-launching film when it hits theaters on January 31, 2025.
