If you’ve had a Cash App account over the last six years, you may now be eligible to claim thousands of dollars through a class-action settlement totaling $15 million after two security incidents. The first breach occurred in December 2021, when a former employee accessed information on over 8 million users, including names, account numbers, holdings, and portfolio values. The complaint alleged that Cash App and parent company Block failed to implement adequate security measures, leading to unauthorized access in 2023. Cash App and Block deny any wrongdoing, and the settlement is not an admission of liability. Eligible users can claim up to $2,500 for out-of-pocket costs from the breaches and up to three hours of lost time at $25 per hour. Claims must be submitted by November 19 through the settlement website, with a final court hearing scheduled for December 16.
