Ecobee has integrated smart locks from Yale and August into its app, allowing users to control Wi-Fi-enabled locks through the Ecobee app without the need to switch to a separate app. However, this feature is only accessible through Ecobee’s subscription service, which costs $5 monthly or $50 annually. The integration includes an “unlock” button on the live view screen of the app, making it convenient to let visitors in and also automatically lock doors when arming the security system. While this could be a useful perk for those already subscribed to Ecobee’s service, it may not be worth the premium for others who don’t mind switching between apps.
