Announced last month as a replacement for the Chromecast line, the Google TV Streamer is now arriving in stores for $100, bringing features like the smart home panel and AI to Google TVs from Hisense and others. A key feature is the home panel, allowing users to control smart home devices directly on the TV with voice commands or the Google Assistant. New features include the Ambient screensaver displaying Google photos and creating AI-generated designs, as well as “enhanced” Gemini-created AI overviews for popular movies and series on streaming services like HBO. Google also introduced a new sports page and guide for its live TV Freeplay service, set to roll out on the Google TV Streamer and other smart devices.
