HBO has released the first teaser for The Last of Us season two, providing clues about what viewers can expect when the series premieres in 2025. The teaser includes a scene with Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, conversing with a new character portrayed by Catherine O’Hara, potentially his therapist, reflecting on his past actions. Other new characters shown for the first time include Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, Jeffrey Wright as Isaac, and Isabela Merced as Dina, alongside returning cast members like Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have split the events from The Last of Us Part II video game into two seasons, with the second season consisting of just seven episodes to create a natural break before a third, larger season. The teaser also hints at possible deviations from the game’s storyline, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting continuation of the original series. The teaser was unveiled as part of HBO’s Coming to Max trailer, which also showcased previews for other highly anticipated series like The Penguin, Dune: Prophecy, It: Welcome to Derry, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdom, the next Game of Thrones spinoff.
