Set in 1937 between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, developed by MachineGames, pits the iconic adventurer against Nazis with a range of Nazi-punching mechanics. The game’s humorous interpretation of classic Indiana Jones tropes, along with open-handed Nazi slapping, adds a unique twist to the action. Featuring combat with a whip, revolver, and fists, Indiana can swing across gaps, incapacitate enemies with his whip, and engage in close-quarters melee combat. Additionally, players can approach encounters with stealth mechanics, solve puzzles, and explore with Indiana’s notebook, camera, and flashlight. The Great Circle offers a mix of difficulty options for puzzles, customization for Indiana’s playstyle, and even upgrades like the True Grit ability. Despite some concerns about the first-person perspective, the game balances this with third-person elements and features authentic voice acting from Troy Baker. With its dry humor and engaging gameplay, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release on December 9 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a PlayStation 5 release scheduled for spring 2025.
