According to Bloomberg and The New York Times, Meta is in talks with celebrities like Keegan-Michael Key, Awkwafina, and Dame Judi Dench for its AI projects, aiming to incorporate their voices into a conversational generative AI and digital assistant called MetaAI, rumored to be similar to Siri and Google Assistant, to be integrated into Facebook, Meta hardware, and other parts of the social network company. Negotiations are ongoing with the actors’ representatives and SAG-AFTRA, with Meta having previously introduced celebrity-voiced chatbots that were later scrapped. This latest endeavor appears to be a more significant part of Meta’s AI ambitions. Additionally, Apple has agreed to pay $50 million in a settlement related to a class action lawsuit over faulty MacBook keyboards, and Idriss Qibaa is facing charges for a social media extortion scheme.
