The return of Metal Slug is almost upon us, with the upcoming release of Metal Slug Tactics after three years since its spin-off was unveiled. Despite some delays, the game now has a firm release date of November 5. Taking a more methodical approach as a tactical RPG rather than the classic run-and-gun gameplay of the original games, Metal Slug Tactics retains the pixel art look while incorporating roguelite elements for increased replayability. In the latest trailer from developer Leikir Studio and publisher Dotemu, three additional characters are revealed from earlier games in the series. The last mainline game, Metal Slug 7, was released in 2008, with other spin-offs like Metal Slug: Commander and Metal Slug: Awakening following suit. Metal Slug Tactics is set for release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
