Nissan has joined Tesla’s network of charging stations by announcing that Ariya drivers can use the MyNissan app to locate charging stations and will have access to the North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter. This move will expand Nissan’s charging network to 90,000 stations across the US, including Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo networks, with plans to incorporate other networks in the future. While Nissan Leaf drivers will not be able to utilize the new charging stations, they can still access NissanConnect EV and Services through the app. In contrast, Tesla has been leading the charging battle, with Stellantis, General Motors, Hyundai, and other major automakers announcing plans to adopt Tesla’s NACS system. Nissan is among the last holdouts to support the system, marking a significant shift in the EV industry.
