The Sonos app has caused numerous issues for customers, dealers, and installers in recent months, prompting the company to create a public Trello board documenting the app problems it has addressed. Social & Community manager Keith Nieves announced the Trello board on Reddit as a way for users to track the company’s progress towards fixing core app issues. This approach is not new in the tech industry, as seen with Fortnite’s Trello board for game bugs. Problems with the Sonos app emerged after a major redesign in April, which failed to deliver promised features and caused performance and reliability issues like speaker malfunctions and device setup difficulties. Sonos CEO Patrick Spence acknowledged the app’s problems in July, noting updates that have improved performance and outlining future fixes. Nieves currently maintains the Trello board, which includes past release notes and upcoming patches, sourced from various communications. Despite not being comprehensive, Nieves is open to user collaboration and encourages reporting unaddressed issues.
