Tesla’s fifth Cybertruck recall is due to a rear-view camera glitch

Tesla announced another recall for over 27,000 Cybertrucks, marking the fifth recall for the electric truck within the past year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued the recall due to a delay in the rear-view camera image display, stating that the delayed camera poses a risk of increasing crashes. The software glitch in the Cybertruck’s system causes a delay of up to eight seconds in the rear-view camera display, but so far, no accidents or injuries have been reported. Tesla is releasing a software update to rectify the camera display delays. This latest recall adds to a series of issues faced by the Cybertruck this year, including delays in deliveries due to accelerator problems, a recall for sticky accelerator pedals, another recall in June for safety issues with the windshield wiper motor, and even virtual Cybertrucks requiring repairs after a glitch in Fortnite.
