The Oldest House may soon make its way to the big screen, as TV and film adaptations of Control and Alan Wake are in the works following a deal struck between Remedy Entertainment and Annapurna Pictures. Annapurna will provide half of the development budget for Control 2 and in return, will have the rights to adapt both franchises. Remedy owns the intellectual property of both games, which exist in an MCU-style shared universe and are known for their cinematic qualities, making them perfect for adaptation into visual mediums. While Remedy will receive the majority of game revenue from Control 2, Annapurna will keep the profits from any TV and film projects. This partnership not only allows Remedy to create the best possible games but also offers them a new revenue stream. With Remedy’s operating profit declining recently, this agreement provides financial relief and opens up new possibilities for the studio in the world of television and film.
