Astro Bot, one of Sony’s greatest triumphs, is receiving new content for those who live life (or at least play PS5) in the fast lane. Developer Team Asobi announced that the first of five free speedrunning levels teased at Sony’s September State of Play will be released on Thursday, October 17. The first level, Building Speed, will have players assisted by their robot bulldog friend Barkster as they blast through a sky-high city, dodging cranes, smashing crates, and zipping through a flying car wash. Subsequent speedrunning stages will be released on each of the following four Thursdays, including Let it Slide, Spring-loaded Run, Helium Heights, and Rising Heat. These levels will introduce new bots to rescue, with nods to Eve from Stellar Blade and Helldivers. Team Asobi has hinted at more surprises to come, suggesting that fans stay tuned for additional content for this PlayStation-exclusive success story.
