After a couple of months of beta testing on consoles to iron out some bugs, Valorant is now properly available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in some regions. Players in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil can dive into the free-to-play tactical shooter. Riot plans to open up the game to console players in other regions in the future. The gameplay has been optimized for consoles with the addition of a new Focus shooting mode. There won’t be crossplay between PC and consoles to maintain competitive integrity, but players will have access to their purchased or earned cosmetics and shared progression across all platforms. Riot promises parity between all platforms in terms of balance changes, agents, maps, premium content, and other features. Valorant production designer Arnar Gylfason expressed excitement for bringing the game to consoles, aiming to provide players with the full Valorant experience. This move marks a significant step for Riot as Valorant becomes its first live-service game on console, with plans to expand to PlayStation and Xbox with future releases.
