When you think of Dyson headphones, the Bane-like Zone may come to mind, with the company’s debut of an air-purifying wearable in 2022 falling short due to poor battery life. The new OnTrac headphones focus solely on audio and active noise cancellation for everyday use, priced at $500 with a classic Dyson color scheme and durable build but lacking advanced features to compete with top models. Offering a customizable design with various color and material options, the OnTrac headphones are comfortable to wear with a unique battery placement in the headband. The headphones come with physical controls and touch-enabled ear cups for easy operation, but may take some time to get used to. While the headphones work with the MyDyson app for basic features and EQ presets, they lack advanced features like spatial audio and adaptive ANC found in other high-end models. The sound quality is clear and detailed but lacks the immersive depth of flagship models, impacting the overall listening experience. The ANC performance is average, blocking out constant noises but struggling with human voices and TV sounds. Call quality is mediocre, with compressed and lacking voice quality during calls. With up to 55 hours of battery life and a quick-charge option, the OnTrac headphones provide long-lasting listening, but may not be worth the premium price compared to other models on the market like Sony’s WH-1000XM5. Overall, the OnTrac headphones offer a unique design and comfortable fit, but fall short in terms of features and sound quality compared to top competitors in the market.
