Short-form videos are now a common way to discover new songs and artists through apps like TikTok and Instagram. Instagram is now introducing a Spotify integration, allowing users to add songs heard from posts and Reels directly to the audio streaming app. By tapping on a song linked in a post, users can easily add it to their Spotify library, with just one tap required after linking their accounts. This feature is being rolled out globally to all users. In a similar development, Instagram is also working on another integration with Spotify that would allow users to share their listening activity on the platform. TikTok, on the other hand, has had a similar feature for adding songs to music streaming libraries since last year, working not only with Spotify but also Apple Music and Amazon Music.
