YouTube is starting to roll out its community notes feature to a select group of users, with screenshots of the official invite appearing on social media, as reported by 9to5Google. The community correction feature was announced in June and allows viewers to submit short blurbs to provide additional context or correct information on video content, coming ahead of the US presidential election. While there is no official start date, instructions for writing and submitting notes are now available in YouTube’s “Help” database, with Google being contacted for further comment. The pilot program is currently in English for US mobile users, who will provide feedback to help determine the helpfulness of the notes before a public rollout, according to the official YouTube blog.
