UK tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, 59, has been confirmed dead after multiple days of search and rescue efforts, as multiple news agencies report. The 183-foot super-yacht, Bayesian, capsized off the coast of Sicily during a violent storm, with Lynch one of 22 individuals on board, resulting in 15 individuals rescued and one body found initially, with five more bodies, including Lynch’s, recovered. His daughter remains the only person missing. Lynch, who co-founded companies Autonomy and Darktrace and venture capital firm Invoke Capital, had been involved in a legal battle over allegations of inflating sales and misleading HP following the sale of Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard. Lynch’s recent yacht excursion to celebrate his legal victory ended in tragedy, with other deceased individuals including the yacht’s chef, lawyer Chris Morvillo, and business associates Judy and Jonathan Bloomer. Lynch’s wife escaped the wreckage, and his co-defendant, Stephen Chamberlain, also faced tragedy when he was hit by a car and died from his injuries.
