Growing up is a process we all go through, and the same can be said for devices like smartphones. While mainstream smartphones have seen little innovation recently, foldable phones have been evolving and are beginning to mature. It seems like they are entering the young adult phase of their development, while traditional candybar handsets have been perfected, at least externally. Companies like Samsung and Google are like the parents of these foldables, with Samsung taking a more experimental approach and Google being more cautious. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold from Google is seen as a well-equipped and refined device ready to take on the competition, with superior cameras and long-lasting battery. Its design features a sleek look, thinner profile, and durable construction, but there are some minor issues with the design, such as difficulty opening the device and a faint rattling sound when shaken. The device’s displays offer an improved viewing experience, especially when multitasking or gaming, and the cameras on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold are considered the best among foldable phones available in the US. Overall, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold represents a significant step forward in the world of foldable smartphones.
