Google is expanding support for its School time feature, which allows parents to limit functionalities on their child’s devices during specific hours, to more hardware. This feature enables parents to set School time hours on their kids’ select Android phones, tablets, and Samsung Galaxy Watches using the Family Link parental controls app. Originally launched on the Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatches, School time is designed to reduce distractions for young users by creating a dedicated home page with limited notifications and allowing parents to choose which apps are accessible. Family Link, Google’s platform for managing kids’ mobile activity, underwent a redesign in 2022.
