Developer Mojang announced that they will no longer support PlayStation VR for Minecraft, with updates ending after March 2025. While support was added in 2020 for the PS4 version, there is no equivalent update for PS5 and PS VR2. Despite this, Mojang will continue to update Minecraft on PS4, allowing players to continue building in their worlds and access Marketplace purchases. It is not uncommon for games to wind down support on older platforms, especially as player interest declines. However, the end of Minecraft on PSVR is significant given its status as the best-selling game of all time. On a positive note, players can look forward to a new experience in the Minecraft universe with a movie adaptation set to release in April 2025.
