The highly anticipated PC port of God of War: Ragnarok has finally been released, almost two years after it originally debuted on PS4 and PS5 to critical acclaim. The biggest new feature in this version is the ability to silence Atreus, Kratos’ talkative son who often gave unsolicited puzzle hints in the console release. The PC port includes an option to reduce these hints, as well as other companions’ chatter throughout the game. Additionally, the game now offers audio descriptions for cinematics and streamer gifs for Twitch and YouTube. It is compatible with NVIDIA and AMD’s upscaling tools and supports ultrawide monitors with a 32:9 aspect ratio. However, the port requires a significant amount of hard drive space, around 175-190GB, and has demanding PC specs, potentially leading to underwhelming performance on devices like the Steam Deck. Despite these drawbacks, the game is now available on Steam and the Epic Games Store for players to enjoy.
